For the past few weeks, the girls have been learning about textile and fiber arts. It has been so much fun to open their eyes to different forms of art and ways practicing artists produce their work. The girls looked at photos of textile artists from around the world, from the lesser know parts of India to the spanish artist Joseph Grau-Garriga, whose beautiful tapestry work is on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The techniques used were basic weaving techniques but it helped the girls develop skills not only in beginning weaving, but skills in patience and friendship as well.
